DJ Sammy Figgs
Originally from New Jersey, DJ Sammy Figgs found his passion for music in high school, mixing tracks on turntables and spinning at backyard parties for friends and neighbors. His love for DJing only grew stronger in college, where he became the Monday night hip-hop DJ for Rutgers University’s radio station. While studying, he immersed himself in the industry—joining DJ coalitions, performing at events, and landing an internship at Sony Music, where he gained firsthand experience in the music business.
After college, Sammy returned to his hometown, building his reputation in the DJ scene before making the move to North Carolina in 2011. Since then, he has become one of Wilmington’s best-kept secrets, known for his seamless mixing, deep crates, and ability to control a crowd. His signature sound blends hip-hop, R&B, and club anthems, always keeping the energy high and the dance floor moving.
In addition to rocking venues across the region, Sammy is a standout mixshow DJ at Coast 97.3, where his skills on the turntables continue to make an impact. Whether in the booth or on the airwaves, DJ Sammy Figgs brings undeniable energy, experience, and a deep love for the art of DJing.
