Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rio made his way to North Carolina at 17 and graduated from UNCW with a Business degree. His DJ journey began with a Latin night in Wilmington, and with 20 years of experience rocking clubs and private events, Rio has become a go-to name in the scene, especially known for his mastery of Latin genres like Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Reggaeton.
These days, you’ll catch Rio keeping the dance floors lit all around Wilmington and beyond. A true crowd reader, he knows exactly when to drop that perfect track to keep the energy high. His passion for music production also means you’re likely to hear his signature original edits mixed in, giving every set a unique touch.
Beyond the decks, Rio is deeply involved in his community, hosting cultural awareness events with UNCW’s Centro Hispano and other local organizations. When he’s not creating epic vibes, Rio’s busy keeping his family life full of love and chaos—he’s got a wife, two kids on the North Brunswick High School wrestling team, three chihuahuas, five chickens, and even a guinea keet.
